Our flagship design is a newly drawn take on the Knights Templar seal: two knights riding a single horse, inside a round border lettered SIGILLVM MILITVM XPISTI ("Seal of the Soldiers of Christ"), a legend found on a 13th-century version of the seal. It's done in engraved, woodcut-style linework with a small red cross at the top. Two brothers sharing one horse appear on the Templars' seal from at least the 1160s, traditionally read as a symbol of poverty and brotherhood. It's a quiet shirt that tends to start conversations with history readers and reenactors.
The shirt is the Bella+Canvas 3001: lightweight 4.2 oz. jersey in Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton, with side seams, shoulder taping, and a classic unisex fit. Solid colors are 100% cotton; heather colors contain polyester. It's pre-shrunk, and a little sheer in lighter colors.
Care: machine-wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle; tumble-dry low or hang-dry; don't iron the print. Printed on demand when you order.
