A Templar knight kneels on one knee with his head bowed in his great helm, both gauntlets resting on the pommel of a sword whose point is planted in the ground. He wears mail, a white mantle, and a white surcoat with a red cross pattée, painted in loose ink and sepia watercolor that fades out into soft painted edges, so there's no hard box around the print. It's a quiet, reverent image of a knight keeping vigil, printed full color across the front. Under the Templar Rule, only knight brothers wore white mantles, a sign of purity and chastity; sergeants wore black or brown.
