Council of Troyes Dad Hat – 1129 (Embroidered)
Embroidered dad hat for the Council of Troyes: crozier and plain Latin cross with large TROYES / 1129 lettering. The full ring Latin (CONCILIUM TRECENSE · MCXXIX) stays on the tee; the hat uses this shorthand so it stays legible in about 2 in. of white stitching.
The Templars’ Latin Rule was approved at the Council of Troyes in January 1129; its prologue opens “Omnibus in primis sermo noster dirigitur.” The Rule itself dates the meeting to 1128; modern scholarship uses January 1129. Original commemorative design — not a reproduction of any surviving seal. No cross pattée: that mantle mark comes later (Eugene III, 1145–53).
Unstructured dad-hat fit, one size, embroidered front. An independent design, not affiliated with any organization.
Care: spot clean or hand wash cold; air dry; do not bleach or iron the embroidery. Embroidered on demand when you order.
