A period-leaning commemorative medallion for the Council of Troyes: a bishop’s crozier and a plain Latin cross inside a ring that reads CONCILIUM TRECENSE · MCXXIX (1129). This is an original design in a medieval seal style — not a reproduction of any surviving council seal or Templar seal.

The Templars’ Latin Rule was approved at the Council of Troyes in January 1129; its prologue opens “Omnibus in primis sermo noster dirigitur.” The Rule itself dates the meeting to 1128 (older year reckoning); modern scholarship uses January 1129. We keep a plain Latin cross on purpose: the red cross pattée of the mantle belongs to Eugene III’s time (1145–53), so a pattée next to “1129” would jump the chronology.

Marks the council, not the manuscript page of the Rule (see our Latin Rule tee). Bernard of Clairvaux helped shape the Order’s early standing; he did not write the Rule. An independent design, not affiliated with any organization.

The shirt is the Bella+Canvas 3001: lightweight 4.2 oz. jersey in Airlume combed and ring-spun cotton, with side seams, shoulder taping, and a classic unisex fit. Solid colors are 100% cotton; heather colors contain polyester. Pre-shrunk; a little sheer in lighter colors.

Care: machine-wash cold, inside-out, on a gentle cycle; tumble-dry low or hang-dry; don’t iron the print. Printed on demand when you order.
